At Hoodridge Industrial Automation, we’re proud to have recently completed the installation and commissioning of a dynamic-batch fertilizer blending and bagging plant — another step forward in supporting Zimbabwe’s agricultural and industrial capacity.
Why Fertilizer Blending Matters
Efficient fertilizer production is critical for strengthening agricultural output and ensuring food security. Dynamic-batch blending technology makes it possible to deliver precise, consistent blends tailored to crop and soil requirements, while also increasing plant throughput and reducing waste.
Our Role in the Project
Our team was responsible for:
Electrical system design and installation — ensuring safe and reliable power distribution for motors, conveyors, and bagging units.
Automation integration — deploying PLC-based control with real-time batching accuracy and recipe management.
Instrumentation and calibration — setting up sensors and scales for high-precision weighing, dosing, and blending.
Commissioning and operator training — running acceptance tests, fine-tuning process parameters, and equipping plant operators to run the system with confidence.

The new system:

Offers operators user-friendly process visibility and control
Supports scalable production to meet seasonal demand peaks
